City centre shops,
museums
& restaurants

Hull has become one of the UK’s most talked-about destinations. In the city centre alone, you’ll find a brand-new concert venue, the Ferens Art Gallery and five fantastic free museums. There are a huge array of all the shops you’d expect in a large city, and several shopping centres.

Hull

2017 was Hull’s year in the spotlight, as the city was named UK City of Culture. It may have now handed over that baton, but Hull is still the city where culture never sleeps. From Humber Street Gallery and the Marina there are a host of vibrant cosmopolitan areas to visit.

Steeped in history, the cobbled streets of Hull’s Old Town transports its visitors back to days gone by and offer exciting nightlife, stylish shopping destinations and historic cultural venues.

In the past few years Hull’s historic Fruit Market has been brought back to life thanks to a number of thriving new creative venues. With art galleries and live music, boutique markets and fine dining, this rather retro location is now a hive of activity. Situated next to Hull Marina it provides access to fantastic restaurants, traditional pubs and stunning views over the River Humber. Hull’s pedestrian swing bridge connects the East and West banks of the River Hull, allowing pedestrians to step on and off the bridge whilst it is turning and gives easy access to the Museum Quarters where you can visit some of Hull’s free museums. Take time to explore The Deep, a spectacular aquarium, home to over 3,500 fish, including magnificent sharks and rays and offering a unique blend of stunning marine life.

If shopping is your bag then you have your pick of all the high street favourites plus vintage boutiques, monthly markets and quirky independent stores. St Stephen’s shopping Centre, Princes Quay and Whitefriargate offer an abundance of shops to give the ultimate shopping experience.

After a hard days sightseeing it’s time for a well-earned rest, so why not enjoy a bite to eat at one of Hull’s superb restaurants, followed by a beverage or two in any of the many bars and pubs on The Avenues!
